Pictures and Parks

The other day I was privileged to go to the park and eat lunch with some of my discipleship girls. It was so fun. They were very patient with me and let me take lots of pictures. Especially of them jumping off of the bench. Thanks girls. We had a great time just hanging out.

Still Small Voice

Then He said, " Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord." And behold, a strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake;
and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire;
and after the fire...a STILL SMALL VOICE!!!
I kings 19:11-12
Isn't God great!!! How awesome He is. So often we just keep talking and talking. We want God to 'speak to us', but we don't give Him a chance. We talk and wait expecting Him to shout above us or to speak His meassage or will for us through an earthquake or a fire. However, we just need to be still. God doesn't speak through those means often times. He will usually speaks in a still small voice inside of us, through His Spirit.
Be still, and know that I am God;I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
psalm 46:10
I was so encouraged to read these verses the other day. I encourage you to sit and listen for God's leading. Don't do all the talking let Him speak to you through His still small voice...

Girl's Night

This week Jenni was down for a few days. They have just moved to OKC, so it was nice to see her again. Mom and Jenni and I were able to get a way for a few hours on Thursday night. WE went out to eat and then went to Target and Walmart. Here are a few pictures of our outing.

Mohawk or Mullet?! That is the Question

So...Eric has been teaching AWANA at our church this past year and has really enjoyed it. He teaches the TNT class. Being the creative person that he is and also being a man who loves to put on a good show, when he teaches he pretends like he is Jethro, the Bible Man. Jethro can go back in time and interact with all the Bible characters of the day and learn all about those olden day people. Anyway, being kids, the TNTers are always saying, "Wait, you have the same shoes as Eric," or, "You look like Eric in a bathrobe." etc... So this past week, Eric needed a haircut anyway, he decided to do it to try and "trick" the kids. Between "counsel time" and teaching time Ryan gave Eric a nice, creative hairstyle. By the way, Ryan has never cut hair before. I think he did a fine job though. So the question is out there...What do you think the outcome was

a mullet or a mohawk?

P.S. This haircut only lasted until we got home from church!! =)

Spring Garden

So I have finally done it. I have planted my very first garden.
Believe me it was cheap too, I went to Target and searched at the dollar spot. This is what I ended up buying:
Basil.
Chives.
Parsley.
Wildflowers.
Tomatoes.
Peppers. (I gave these away though...)
I planted them at just the right time. We have gotten about three days of rain and expected to get about three more days. Yesterday I went to have a peek at the growth of my garden and guess what!!!!? They are actually growing. The basil and chives are looking really good and the wildflowers, well they are a little bit behind, but they are coming up a little as well. I still don't see any parsley, but Iam waiting. I can't wait to tell you all when I get to use it in my cooking and when I have picked my first tomato. Anyone want to join me in making some spaghetti with my homegrown spices. I will let you all know how it turns out...if it does =)
